Running Away to the Hills

[insert witty excuse for not blogging for three months here]

There has been love found, love lost, reflexology done and classes graduated in the three months it's been since I blogged. Things have been strange at the Treehouse, and Wendy and I are looking for a new place to live.

Stressful things like packing and realizing how much stuff you have accumulated in a mere 2 years isn't fun to blog about.

So I didn't.

It isn't much fun to live either, but there's nothing to be done about that. Except - occasionally jump in the car with a stranger and head for the hills.

Okay, he wasn't a stranger. But he is a little strange.

Yesterday, Wendy and I wandered up to Idaho Springs for pizza with her friend Paul.

On the road.

Headed for the hills.

Okay, so maybe comparing cool sunglasses with Paul would be better done when he ISN'T driving.

Sometimes I forget how much I like the mountains.

Nearly there! Three whole exits for one little town!

Getting close! There's the fancy sign!

So we wandered around, like good tourists, just relaxing and taking it all in. Old buildings and pretty scenery.

It's a pretty little town. And as we were taking in the sights on main street, we saw the most important sign! The one that would dictate our afternoon!

BEAU JO'S PIZZA!

Okay, so there's one by the Treehouse. It's probably the altitude makes it taste better. Or something.

Strangely, they don't offer carrot pizza. But I did the best I could with the veggies I could get.

After having a lunch of delicious pizza, we were back to wandering.

I told Wendy I thought I'd found the perfect place for us to move. She suggested I start buying lottery tickets now. (shrug)

This was a cute little park. Sad that there was a fire, but it was good to see....

... citizens IN the park practicing their fire fighting technique (the girl in the pink shirt was throwing water at her friends.)

And then we were walking back to the car to head back to Paul's for the Yankees vs. Red Sox game.

That's baseball... which I'm pretty sure is the ball that doesn't have the points on the end, and that people hit with a bat instead of kicking around.

Paul said he'd tell me all about baseball and sports and said we might even go to a Rockies game someday. I guess we'll see. (shrug)

'Til next time (which will be sooner than three months. When it's a choice between packing, sorting and cleaning or going out and about and wandering... well, let's just say Wendy and I have been doing a lot more wandering. More blogging later!)
