Running Away to the Hills

[insert witty excuse for not blogging for three months here]

There has been love found, love lost, reflexology done and classes graduated in the three months it's been since I blogged. Things have been strange at the Treehouse, and Wendy and I are looking for a new place to live.

Stressful things like packing and realizing how much stuff you have accumulated in a mere 2 years isn't fun to blog about.

So I didn't.

It isn't much fun to live either, but there's nothing to be done about that. Except - occasionally jump in the car with a stranger and head for the hills.

Okay, he wasn't a stranger. But he is a little strange.

Yesterday, Wendy and I wandered up to Idaho Springs for pizza with her friend Paul.

On the road.

Headed for the hills.

Okay, so maybe comparing cool sunglasses with Paul would be better done when he ISN'T driving.

Sometimes I forget how much I like the mountains.

Nearly there! Three whole exits for one little town!

Getting close! There's the fancy sign!

So we wandered around, like good tourists, just relaxing and taking it all in. Old buildings and pretty scenery.

It's a pretty little town. And as we were taking in the sights on main street, we saw the most important sign! The one that would dictate our afternoon!

BEAU JO'S PIZZA!

Okay, so there's one by the Treehouse. It's probably the altitude makes it taste better. Or something.

Strangely, they don't offer carrot pizza. But I did the best I could with the veggies I could get.

After having a lunch of delicious pizza, we were back to wandering.

I told Wendy I thought I'd found the perfect place for us to move. She suggested I start buying lottery tickets now. (shrug)

This was a cute little park. Sad that there was a fire, but it was good to see....

... citizens IN the park practicing their fire fighting technique (the girl in the pink shirt was throwing water at her friends.)

And then we were walking back to the car to head back to Paul's for the Yankees vs. Red Sox game.

That's baseball... which I'm pretty sure is the ball that doesn't have the points on the end, and that people hit with a bat instead of kicking around.

Paul said he'd tell me all about baseball and sports and said we might even go to a Rockies game someday. I guess we'll see. (shrug)

'Til next time (which will be sooner than three months. When it's a choice between packing, sorting and cleaning or going out and about and wandering... well, let's just say Wendy and I have been doing a lot more wandering. More blogging later!)

The Reflex

Well, reflexology actually (though now you have the Duran Duran song going through your head, don't you?)

Wendy and I had our first reflexology class Monday night.

Spiffy classroom, in a different part of CSHA (Colorado School of Healing Arts) than we've been in before. Class starts at six so...

Wendy, of course, got us there about 40 minutes early.

It's a known bug. She's ALWAYS early.

She said we could kill some time by wandering next door to the gas station and getting a snack and some bottled water.

Which killed approximately ten minutes.

So we investigated the room. I have no idea what these things are for, something for the spa program.

I am allergic to spas. At least Miranda's spa. Wendy finds this funny.

Eventually, class started. The teacher is really nifty, and I think this subject is fascinating. Most stuffies have feet, so I can do stuffie reflexology! Wendy and I are going to be trade partners too (we have to do two labs a week), so that'll be great.

The book is clear and easy to understand. The homework is pretty easy and...

The visual aids for the class make things pretty simple. If a bit odd.

Next class is Monday. I'll let you know how homework and stuff goes. So far, so good, though. And it's good to be back in school.

I kind of missed it. Sort of.

Two Year Anniversary

Wendy and I went out to celebrate our two year anniversary last night.

It was a pretty simple celebration, but it made me happy. Two years. Who would've thought?

We went for Mexican food (but no margaritas this time *shudder*).

It was delicious.

Though, Wendy wasn't very hungry so I valiantly offered to eat all the fried ice cream.

I'm noble like that.

Anyway, it wasn't renewing vows or anything as formal as that, but we did promise each other to travel more and to remain companions. I promised to be less of a home bunny (I'm a bunny, we live in burrows and only come out to eat. What can I say?) and she promised to take me more places and to go more places herself (I pointed out that it is indeed difficult to be a travel bunny if your companion never travels.)

And already helping with our fresh travel beginning, I'm going to start going to class with her again. We talked about it, and I think I could learn to do reflexology, which is the class Wendy is starting this evening. Feet are smallish, compared to a whole human, they're not very big at all! And stuffies have feet too! So even though massage therapy didn't work out for me, I think reflexology just might. We'll have to see. Either way, I promise to let you know how it goes.

All in all, a lovely two year anniversary, and here's to many more!

Home Bunny - BORED! Home Bunny - Back!

Well, so I thought I wanted to stay home and not really go out anywhere anymore. And it was great, for a while.

I took Voltaire for a lot of walks.

And sometimes we met interesting new people, out and about on our walks.

I let Kumo set me up on a blind date.

Which did not work out.

I found myself spending my days mostly surfing the web, and eating too much junk food.

Which, according to the trusty bathroom scale, also did not work out well.

And one night, I finally realized, that by trading in wandering for the safety of being a home bunny, I had chased all the adventure from my life. I was BORED!

I couldn't sleep, and so I wandered downstairs to the kitchen, for a cup of camomile tea.

And there I ran into Wendy, making herself some tea too!

We sat and drank tea together, talking about the good times we'd had when I was her Travel Bunny. And maybe it was the camomile talking, but pretty soon I found myself telling her that I missed being her travel companion. And she told me that she missed traveling with me a lot too, and sure enough...

I'm back! Travel bunny about town, bunny in the bunny bag, hare in the wind once more!

So anyway, thanks for reading and checking back. Hopefully I'll have plenty of adventures to tell you about here, but whatever happens it'll definitely be something more exciting than just eating Girl Scout Cookies all day!

More bloggering soon!
